When I began my photography career, newborn photography seemed like a terrifying concept. Yes, babies are fun to hug and snuggle, but I honestly didn’t think I would enjoy posing them, wrapping them, or dealing with poop and pee. Luckily, I was wrong, and newborns are now one of my favorite subjects. I’ve been blessed with two incredible newborn sessions in the last month, and I can’t help sharing photos of Mr. Kye and Miss Ryhann!
Kye was born in July, and I had the privilege of photographing him in his nursery when he was just seven days old. His mama is actually a friend from high school, and it was great to catch up with her between putting her sweet baby boy in baskets.
I’m so happy with the way this session turned out, but I have to say that my favorite photo is the black and white shot with Kye in his daddy’s arms. I love how loved and protected Kye looks in this image and the contrast between Kye’s sweet, delicate features and his daddy’s tattoos.
Luckily for me, Kye’s parents loved their photos and passed my information along to their friends who welcomed Miss Ryhann into the world just a week later. As strange as it is, I despise the color pink but not on Miss Ryhann. This little lady could wear anything and make it look absolutely darling.
It’s hard for me to pick a favorite photo from this session, but I especially love the photos of Ryhann wrapped up in the vintage quilt I discovered a few weeks ago, as well as the photos with her mama’s softball stuff. I have to admit, it was very difficult for me to declare this session finished. I could’ve photographed Ryhann all day long!
Megan, Bo, Brittany, and Anna, thank you for allowing me to photograph your little ones! You guys were all so welcoming and wonderful. I hope there is another opportunity to work with your family’s in the future!
